The Administration for Community Living said on Sept. 28 that it has refreshed the Home Modification Information Network (HMIN), a free online directory of home modification programs, funding opportunities, service providers, and related resources.

ACL noted that home modifications can help people stay safe and independent at home, but that finding reliable local information is often hard. The updated network lets users search by the type of help they need and enter a ZIP code to find state, local, and national options. The page was last modified Sept. 28, 2026.

Why this matters

For people with I/DD and aging caregivers, bathroom, ramp, and kitchen changes often decide whether HCBS can continue at home instead of a facility. Supports coordinators, provider agencies, and families can use a ZIP search to locate funding beyond a single Medicaid waiver cap—useful when states raise or tighten home-mod limits.
